Packing Services
Our own crews box up your home with proper materials, label every carton by room and can unpack at the other end, so moving day starts with everything ready to load.
The people packing your home work for Dow Moving. We never send subcontractors or day laborers into your house.
Dish packs, cell boxes, picture cartons and wardrobe boxes come with the crew, so fragile items get the right protection.
Every carton is marked with its room and contents, which speeds up unloading and makes the first week at home easier.
Our packing and moving crews are fully insured, and the same team that packs your home can load the truck.

We bring them. When you book packing, the crew arrives with boxes in several sizes, tape, packing paper, bubble wrap and specialty cartons such as dish packs, wardrobe boxes and picture cartons. You do not need to collect boxes ahead of time. If you have already packed some things yourself, we can check those boxes and reinforce any that look weak before they go on the truck.
For most homes we pack the day before the truck is loaded. Larger houses, or homes with a lot of glassware, books or collections, may need two days of packing. We set the schedule during the estimate based on what we see room by room. Packing too early leaves you living out of boxes, so we try to keep the gap between packing and loading short.
Yes. We do not pack flammable or hazardous items such as gasoline, propane tanks, paint thinner, aerosol cans, pool chemicals or ammunition, and we avoid perishable food. We also recommend you keep cash, jewelry, medications, passports and important papers with you rather than in a box on the truck. If you are unsure about a specific item, ask during the estimate and we will tell you how to handle it.
Each box is marked with the room it is going to and a short description of what is inside, written on more than one side so it can be read in a stack. If your new home has different room names, such as a bonus room or a second office, tell us beforehand and we will label for the new layout. That way the crew can place boxes where they belong as they unload.
When we unpack for you, we flatten the empty cartons and gather the used paper and wrap as we go, then take it with us when we leave. If you are unpacking on your own over a few weeks, let us know and we can talk through options for collecting the boxes later. Many people also keep a few sturdy cartons for storage or the next move.
